Frequently Asked Questions
1) What happened?
Dominic Kampf was shot and killed inside his home on April 21, 2023.
2) Who murdered Dominic?
We know who murdered Dominic. The person of interest (POI) in this case was stalking and threatening Dominic for 11 months leading up to his death, and the stalking escalated 2 weeks before his death. I cannot name the POI at this time.
3) Why was Dominic murdered?
Dominic’s murder was due to a well-documented dangerous domestic situation.
4) Why did the Michigan State Police (MSP) cover up his murder?
The inexperienced officer (MSP Trooper Andrew Woodard) who found Dominic’s body inexplicably ruled his death a “suicide” in 14 seconds and notified Central Dispatch that Dominic “committed suicide” in 2 minutes. Only then did Woodard contact an MSP superior.
The superior began directing Woodard by phone and instructed Woodard to get the password for Dominic’s phone to access Dominic’s security camera footage. Within minutes, they discovered the footage captured the killer entering and exiting the cabin through Dominic’s bedroom window. (The window also showed clear signs of forced entry.)
Woodard then removed both the pistol and Dominic’s phone from the cabin PRIOR to the arrival of the medical examiner investigator (MEI). When the MEI did arrive, Woodard withheld the security footage from her, and began actively misleading her investigation.
As difficult as it is to believe, the MSP chose to conceal Woodard’s first response failures by covering up Dominic’s murder.
5) What has the MSP done to the family?
By covering up Dominic’s murder, the MSP has denied Dominic truth and justice. The MSP has also knowingly placed my family in danger from the same person who murdered Dominic, who is still stalking us too. We are in grave danger.
Although incomprehensible, our murders are acceptable collateral to the MSP in avoiding accountability for covering up Dominic’s murder. The MSP has demonstrated that it will protect itself at all costs, assigns no value to human life.
Failed Investigation
This unimaginable situation with the Michigan State Police (MSP) began to unfold when first responding officer, Trooper Andrew Woodard, ruled Dominic’s death a suicide just 14 seconds after finding his body, notified Central Dispatch in under one minute, and only then contacted a senior MSP officer, who began instructing Woodard by phone.

Instead of directing Woodard to correct his call-out with Central Dispatch, secure the scene, and await a detective, his superior did the unthinkable. He began instructing him on the steps to take to conceal his errors by covering up Dominic’s murder. This included efforts by the MSP to mislead the medical examiner investigator (MEI), Kari Duman, and coroner, Dr. Hauche, starting with the immediate removal of key physical evidence of Dominic’s murder from the scene.

When 911 was called requesting a welfare check on Dominic inside his home, two Isabella County Sheriff's Deputies provided Woodard an initial assist with the call. The following frames were taken from the body-worn camera video footage of Isabella County Sheriff's Deputy Jeff Chaprnka.
